ON THE UNDERGROUND RADAR: CHRIS STEIN/NEGATIVE: ME, BLONDIE, AND THE ADVENT OF PUNK EXHIBITION

To mark Blondie‘s 40th anniversary, Somerset House will showcase over 50 unpublished photographs by Chris Stein, co-founder of the band.

Stein started shooting in 1968 to document the downtown New York culture from the centre of the punk/new wave scene. He photographed places such as Mudd Clubb, CBGBs and Andy Warhol’s Factory, and his subjects include David Bowie, Richard Hell and Joan Jett, alongside his former partner Debbie Harry.

The exhibition is at Somerset House, London WC2, from 5 Nov until 25 Jan 2015, free entry.
