Indie Venue Week

Support Indie Venues

The sixth season of the Indie Venue Week, the independent music festival that will animate many stages around the country, is about to begin.

It’s a cause that’s close to us at Underground. The opportunity for independent venues, artists and labels to be seen and heard.  The director of the IVW, Chloe “Colin” Ward, has just announced that Novelist will be the ambassador of this year’s event, together with Samantha Renke.

The IVW will take place from Monday 28 January to Sunday 3 February 19, and it is constantly growing: 45 locations will participate this year, for a total of 92 towns and cities across the UK.

There will be hundreds of venues that will offer live music and the audience is going to be very diverse: bloggers, record labels, artists of various kinds and anyone who wants to participate at this unique event of independent music.

The event, which lasts a week, will offer many musicians the opportunity to perform live, perhaps for the first time in front of an audience and who knows that this experience will be a good springboard for some of them.

Another “very independent” thing of the IVW is that the festival does not take place only in major cities, but also in small villages, a sign that this is really an inclusive event and not something just looking for the spotlight.

It is also an opportunity to visit the country, make trips out of town with friends and live an adventure of good music. Supported with public funding from Arts Council England in the United Kingdom and with funds also coming from the wider music industry and brands from around the world, this festival is also a tribute to the small record companies and to all those clubs that support emerging bands allowing them to perform.

The organization will also select volunteers who want to actively participate and experience in the field of events. We feature two venues here and give them your support.

First of all to Hastings and the BLACKMARKET VIP venue that is giving local and national bands a platform on the south coast. Then we head to Belfast to OH YEAH  a hub for music in the city that serves the purpose to prmote music as a means to change lives for the better.
Anyway, wherever you are go support the INDIE VENUE – its where all the good music starts, its where you find the passionate fans and the passioante music makers.
